This space is set-up perfectly for relaxation - enjoy drinks, dinner, a good book, all while observing the wildlife enjoying the salt marshes. There is even a gas grill right off the screened porch for cookouts and a fishing platform.

"A peaceful, quiet retreat"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The two-bedroom apartment overlooks a salt marsh, and it was wonderful to watch the resident pelicans and herons. It was fun to see how the landscape changed as the tides came in and out. The apartment was well equipped, with good kitchen gear (although we always bring our own knives). The master bedroom is spacious and cleverly decorated with sails as curtains. Even though it was the winter, we managed to spend some nice time on the beautiful deck. It was convenient to have a washer and dryer on the premises. The only downside: the apartment is up a fairly steep flight of stairs, so we were careful to bring up light-weight, small pieces of luggage. The neighborhood was quiet, but it might be noisier during the summer season since neighboring houses are close by. We arranged for the apartment through Tybee Vacation Rentals, who we have used before; they are excellent: professional, competent, friendly, accommodating.

"Relaxing Beautiful Tybee Island"
The staff at Tybee Vacation Rentals were very friendly and professsional. We made contact before we arrived and when we checked in. They had everything ready for us, including our keys, directions to the house, and things to do and see. Our only disappointment was that the house was so close to other houses. Also, the walk to the beach was longer than we expected. I feel the pictures were a bit deceiving in this sense. But, when we walked into the house, we were very happy with it. It was clean, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. We loved all the nautical touches, fixtures, decorations, etc. Tybee Island was just what we were looking for - nice beaches, nice restaurants and close to Savannah.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Creekside Captains Retreat! It is a very unique house for the reasons you mentioned- the nautical theme, unique layout and beautiful decorations. We use an on sight photographer and we strive to use only the most realistic images of our properties for our website. On your next stay, our vacation planners will be happy to assist you in finding a location that is closer to the beach.

"Tybee's Best Kept Secret"
The Creekside Captains Retreat is a nature lovers dream. As a nature lover and photographer this location was perfect. The house has it all. Screened in porch right at creek level. Living room, bedroom and deck views of the creek and march. Very unique ship like design, warm and welcoming. We felt right at home and love the nautical feeling of the house and being able to wake up and see nature come to life in the back yard. Racoons, Pelicans, Herons, Egrets, Gulls, and a sunset you don't want to miss, all in your backyard. We met our neighbors who are such lovers of the area they are soon buying a house in the area. Just a short drive to the beach, or sit and soak up the sites and sounds of the marsh and the creek. Thank you Tybee Vacation Rentals, we loved it and will be back.

"A very comfortable peaceful setting to enjoy the coast. "
This vacation celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We loved the ship like decor of the home. And the view of the marsh from the porch and through the large living room window was candy to the eye. We enjoyed the small town feel and all the locals were very friendly. That's the way we southerners are. The food on the island was outstanding as well as other close by restaurants. We also enjoyed day trips to savannah with its historical appeal.

"This was a great place...great deal. Perfect for our honeymoon!!"
Perfect!!! Everything was great. Very clean, very new. The mattress was even comfortable. We didn't "want" for everything....everything was provided. The view was amazing. The price was fair. We had the best time.

"Great Family Get away"
We had a wonderful time staying at the Creekside Cabins Retreat. It was a good place to call "Home" at the end of the day. Any issues were addressed by management when requested. The adjacent property is very close. We were there over St. Patrick's Day and there was a group staying there who started playing music at 11. They were very respectful when we asked for it to be turned down, in fact, they turned it off. Also not a place for people with disabilities as there are steep stairs to get to the house. We rode bikes into town and to the lighthouse. Great stay!

"Relaxing and Interesting! Loved the Captain's Retreat!"
We liked the retreat! Quite unique and lots of bedroom storage room and very relaxing. We had a couple of outdoor visitors. One night on the roof of the porch...big fat raccoon! One afternoon we had a snake looking in the window...Eww...but he didn't stay for long! The kitchen was a little compact, but we ate out every evening, so it was great for breakfast and snacks. The view from the back was great! We fished off dock, but no luck. Like staying on the beach, but this was a nice change of scenery!
