Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler… Let the Good Times Roll, Tybee Island Style!Tybee Island Lets the Good Times Roll!

Tybee is a natural setting for a Mardi Gras event due to its unique character and fun-loving residents.  That is to say, Tybee Island Loves a parade!! What better way to celebrate than with our Annual Mardi Gras Parade and Festival!  Revelers Unite! And Let the Good Times Roll!

The event will encompass the traditions of Mardi Gras, an event with origins dating back to the ancient Romans and carried on today in cities such as Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana. Mardi Gras is held on the last day before the start of Lent. Tybeenians will don masks and feather boas, and wear famous colors of Mardi Gras, Purple, Gold and Green. There will be dancing in the streets, and free concerts, and a costume contest, and, of course, we will crown a Tybee Mardi Gras King and Queen!

Parade time is 2pm on Saturday February 25th, the route will begin at Memorial Park and follow Butler Avenue to Tybrisa to the Round-about. After the parade will be a costume contest in which the winners will be crowned the 2017 Mardi Gras Tybee King and Queen! The King and Queen will then host the street dance fun with music!

If you are traveling to Tybee from Savannah, or beyond, be sure to secure your spot on the parade route early!  The Parade kicks off at 2pm, you wont want to miss the beads, the dubloons, and candy that is handed out to revelers.  Want to be close to all the action? Check out some of the best places to watch the parade and STAY right near the parade route!!
