Have no Fear, summer is STILL here!!! With long summer days, and warm summer nights, there is no better way to hop off the hamster wheel of life and take a much needed, and well deserved Time Out than to head off on a last minute getaway and soak up a little sunshine! We all need a break from the ordinary, and Tybee Island is the perfect location for your late summer escape. Here are 5 reasons why visiting Tybee in August is a MUST!
1. LOWER PRICES - AFTER PEAK SEASON!
A beach vacation after Memorial Day, and visiting your favorite destination in June or July is typical for most beach goers. Mobs of people line the beaches – one next to the other - tourist season is in full swing. Parking can be a nightmare, restaurants are crowded, and droves of cars line the highway heading EAST. What happens after July? Welcome to August! Things start to quiet down! There is still lots to do, restaurant tables start opening up, crowds begin to wane, the water is warm, the beach is still beautiful – and a little less crowded. And the best part is Peak Season prices come down!!! Vacation homes become more affordable with lower prices after Peak Season! Did you know you save time and money if you Book Direct with your property management company as compared to a third party website? Take a look for your favorite vacation rental... maybe even one with a pool!
2. AUGUST 21st - SOLAR ECLIPSE
Slide from https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov
On Monday, August 21, 2017 – all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. For the first time since 1979, one of natures’ most amazing sights will appear over our coastline. Our Georgia coastline will be a perfect place to view the eclipse. Although we won't be in the path of totality, we can expect about a 97% Visibility from Tybee. The eclipse is on a Monday, so why not make a long weekend out of it! Start your solar celebration on Friday, and enjoy the sun’s rays all weekend before it gets soaked up by the moon on Monday! Check out our specials page to get a great deal on a weekend eclipse escape.
3. TAKE IN AN AMAZING SUNSET
Solar eclipses happen once every 40 or 50 years… that’s a special event. But why not take a moment to witness a spectacular event – that happens at the end of every day – take in a sunset, on a boat or from a dockside restaurant – with a cocktail with some fresh shrimp – off the boat. Slow down, relax, renew take in the views. Sip, Savor, Repeat.
4. ONE LAST SUMMER FLING BEFORE THE KIDS RETURN TO SCHOOL!
One of the greatest gifts you can give to your kids or grand-kids is lasting memories of summer family vacations. Some of the best moments in our lives come from either playing in the sand as kids, or remembering a simpler time when all we had to worry about was catching the next wave, or building the biggest sand castle. Make lasting summer vacation memories by renting a home for your vacation where you can play all day, prepare family meals together, and unwind with family game nights or family movie nights. Thinks childhood memories are made of.
Lots of great deals can be had after the summer crowds have left. Take advantage of some last minute deals, or plan to extend your stay beyond the weekend. Take time to savor the coastline, enjoy the waterways and the marshlands. Experience the best of both worlds by staying on Tybee Island, and visiting Savannah, GA by day, and listening to the waves at night. Remember to book directly with us to save some extra time and money! See you at the beach!
