History buffs won't want to miss the Tybee Island Light Station which is one of the nation's oldest and tallest lighthouses, originally built in 1733. Visitors can climb its 178 steps to the top and enjoy breathtaking views. The Light Station is one of America's most intact, having all of its historic support buildings on its five-acre site. The Fresnel lens is 9' tall.
Admission: $9 for Adults/ $7 for Children (6-17 years) Children under 5 are Free.
Admission for Military: $7.00 for Military/ Free for Coast Guard (Must present ID)
Hours: Open Daily, except Tuesday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. We stop selling tickets at 4:30PM.
Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day,and New Years Day. (Hours and pricing are subject to change, please view the website or call for more information)
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times while visiting our sites.Free parking is available at the lighthouse for those purchasing tickets. Please do not leave your vehicle parked here except for while touring the light station and museum. If you plan to visit the beach they ask that you move your vehicle to the city parking lot across the street.
Special Tours: During different times of the year the Lighthouse offers a special Sunset Tour in which you can enjoy watching the amazing sunset from the top of the Lighthouse. This is a unique opportunity to experience the Lighthouse after hours by joining one of our small private tours. The tour last about ninety minutes and includes a climb to the top of the Lighthouse to experience a beautiful Tybee Island sunset. We are limited on how many we can take on each tour and they fill up quickly so if you are interested don't wait to call. Tickets are $25 and nonrefundable. No children 12 or under.
