Originally built in 1870 by local Architect/builders Grimball and Chaplin, this 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 Bath two-story townhome can be rented alone for a group of up to 8 guests, or combined with the downstairs Garden apartment (Grimball-Chaplin House A) to provide accommodations for up to 12 people.

Guests will be met with the original Architectural style of the Victorian District of Savannah. The original parlor has been divided into two rooms - a large bedroom and the living room. The bedroom features a beautiful King bed, floor to ceiling windows, grand high ceilings and ample closet space. There is a 39 inch Smart TV in the bedroom. There is a half bath on this level of the home, as well as a washer and Dryer.

The living area features a 50 inch Smart TV, along with ample seating, and the sofa has a Queen size bed for additional guests. The updated kitchen is fully equipped with a modern feel. The dining area has dining for 6 guests. The stainless appliances include a full size refrigerator, oven a gas stove top, a microwave and a dishwasher to make you feel at home.

Just off the kitchen, French doors lead to a covered porch with comfortable seating for 4 along with a bistro table and chairs for two. There is a gas grill for guest use. The back courtyard is fenced for privacy. The courtyard is shared with the downstairs unit.
This property is Pet Friendly, so the privacy fenced yard is a great option for pet owners.

The main architectural feature of this home is the elegant staircase. Upstairs are two guest bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a handsomely appointed King bedroom with Smart TV, as well as a tastefully decorated Queen bedroom with attached updated bathroom. The bathroom features subway tile and marble throughout, and a walk in luxurious shower.

There is free street parking, and there is 1 off-street parking available behind the courtyard (access parking from the lane behind the home.)

Grimball-Chaplin house is a great option for couples, or families visiting the area. Many SCAD buildings are a short distance away, which makes it a great spot for visiting family members, or prospective student groups.

Grimball-Chaplin House is just a short 3 1/2 blocks away from beautiful Forsyth Park. It is a great choice for picnics, outdoor sports, walking, and jogging. This is also where you will find the famous Forsyth fountain and is a popular spot for weddings in Savannah. Just bordering the south end of the park is a local natural foods grocery, Brighter Day and a local favorite coffee shop, the Sentient Bean. This home was absolutely PERFECT for me and my family. The location was a plus because it's nestled in a quiet, friendly neighborhood in walking distance to Forsyth Park and several eateries. Clary's Cafe' became our "go to" brunch spot, great food and the hospitality made us smile. I highly recommend this rental property and I look forward to using it again in the future.

This is a great property! Clean, spacious, easy walk to the park, coffee shops, grocery store and to bars/restaurants. We had 4 couples with us on our trip and we all were able to easily function in the condo. The deck was large enough for all of us to lounge and the kitchen had everything we needed. The area this condo is located is nice; there is some work being done to surrounding properties, but that's to be expected as the homes are being restored.

*It is worth noting that whoever gets the sofa bed must be a early riser as there is no other way into the kitchen except through the living room.
